The theme of morning is captured in the hashtag #SUengage which enables students to engage with:

  • Stellenbosch University's commitment towards enabling Social Impact.
  • Why and how the university connects with the surrounding communities as it relates to Vision2040.
  • Creating a greater awareness around how critical real-life challenges can be addressed through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“The Division for Social Impact through student engagement remains a critical vehicle for connecting the University and communities", says Renee Hector-Kannemeyer, Deputy Director:  Division for Social Impact.

The social impact community morning will include diverse activities that will highlight the commitment of students and how they are contributing towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals for 2023 on both Stellenbosch and Tygerberg campuses.

The morning enables students to experience SU's commitment to collaborate with stakeholders from the public and private sectors as well as community members in addressing real-life social challenges and changing society for the better.
