​​In the first Science Café Stellenbosch event at Woordfees 2019, the well-known environmentalist Dave Pepler will talk to Professors Anton Pauw and Léanne Dreyer. They are both working in the biological interactions research group in SU's Department of Botany and Zoology, where they investigate the form and function of plants, and how their ecology, evolution and diversification is shaped by agents such as fungi and bacteria, pollinators and herbivores.

• Science Café Stellenbosch is an initiative of SU's Faculty of Science to promote the discussion of scientific issues in a language that everyone can understand.
• Entrance is free, but come early and treat yourself to a glass of good wine before you get seated at Die Plataan Café.
• The discussion will take place in both Afrikaans and English.
