​​​On Thursday, 13 December 2018 the Faculty of Engineering will host its annual Jac van der Merwe Competition for Innovation, sponsored by MultiChoice.

Six students will compete for the R30 000 prize awarded to the final-year student with the most innovative project.

Personnel and the public are welcome to attend the presentations of the students. It will take place from 09:00 to about 11:15 in E202/3, the auditorium on the second floor of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering building.

10:15 Chemical: Suzanne van Niekerk (The development of a functional cellulose-based bioactive film.)

10:35 Industrial: Ruan Spies (Decision support system for medical trial recruitment planning and monitoring.)

10:55 Electrical and Electronic: Kobus Kotzé (SLM 3D-Printed Horn Antenna for Satellite Communications at X-band.)
