of the Centre for Student Counselling and Development
The
CTL hereby invites you to a lunch-hour “padkos session” as part of the AUXIN
Project. The AUXIN Project aims to create growth opportunities for SU
lecturers.
Presenter: Ms
Mumtaj Parker, Deputy
Director: Centre for Student Counselling and Development
One of the issues that the Centre for Student Counselling
and Development is increasingly becoming aware
that lecturers are not fully cognisant
of the role of the Centre in terms of providing psychological and
developmental support to the SU Community.
The presentation will give an overview of the
core functions of the five units at the Centre for Student Counselling and
Development. Each one has a unique function yet with a common purpose to
promote through put and retention. The Unit for Graduandi Career Services
specifically goes beyond through put and retention and assists with the
transition to the world of work. The
Equality Unit focuses on both students and staff. We offer a holistic service
to promote client well-being. It is essential that lecturers and staff
comprehend the referral processes and the significance of them identifying
challenges that students experience on a broad-spectrum as well as the
manifestations thereof.Date of the presentation: 27 March 2018
Venue: Den
Bosch, 37 Victoria Street (opposite House Skuilhoek and directly behind the
Conservatoire)
