The Management of Stellenbosch University resolved to accept a new
Electronic Communications Policy ("ECP") with effect 1 January
2004, after a thorough and extensive consultation process the past
year. All stakeholders were afforded the opportunity to submit their
inputs during the period leading up to the finalisation of the ECP.
During the 2006 registration process for students, as well as the
usual annual re-registration for network access by personnel, users
(irrespective if the user is a student or staff member), will be required
to confirm that the user will comply with the provisions of the ECP.
Reregistration for the use of the US's electronic communication facilities
is therefore dependent on the acceptance of the ECP.
Users will be able to register for services on the webpage http://www.sun.ac.za/useradm from 15 January. Services will be renewed immediately as soon as the
information required is supplied. Access to facilities will expire
end of March 2006 if a user fails to reregister.
