POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN DEVELOPMENT FINANCE

The Postgraduate Diploma in Development Finance is the ideal starting point for junior and mid-level managers interested in a career in Development Finance and the funding of growth initiatives such as roads, telecommunication infrastructure, hospitals and houses. The programme is focused on Africa, but the skills acquired can be applied in any developing economy.​

  • Format: Modular programme (2 on-campus blocks over 1 year)​​

MPHIL (MDEVF)

Gain an understanding – on Master’s level – of the complexities of the different development finance resources available to poor countries, especially in Africa. You will also acquire the skills to make a meaningful contribution to policy formulation and implementation in this field. This will enable you to take on senior positions in the financial industry and in policy-making and regulatory institutions, allowing you to contribute towards sustainable progress in Africa.

  • Format: Modular programme (3 on-campus blocks of 2 weeks each over 2 years). A research assignment must be completed.​​


PHD

The purpose of this PhD is to create research that supports the growth agendas of South Africa and the greater African continent. It is structured into a course-work component and a research component. This is the first specialised PhD of its kind on the African continent.​​

  • ​Format: At least 2 years. Year 1: 2 blocks of 2 weeks each on campus. Year 2 and subsequent years: Supervised research.​​
